Happy New Year! One of the first things I ate for the new year? An acai bowl of course!
I also tried to start the new year off in the new year, so I went on a run along Waikiki.
And thennnnn I rewarded myself with a poke bowl from my favorite place Ono Seafood.
But of course all of my efforts were neutralized once we went to Chef Chai‘s for dinner. The appetizer sample and the osso buco were my favorite parts and absolutely delicious!
And then of course we did even more eating and went to Sarento‘s at the top of the Ilikai.
The escargot was FANTASTIC.
To start off our weekend, we rented a car and headed over to the North Shore and Kailua. We got to Romy’s during prime lunch time, so after we ordered our food we drove down Kamehmeha and stopped by Turtle Bay and Ted’s Bakery.
Later, we had a huge dinner at Haleiwa Joe’s
The next day, we had brunch at Cinnamon’s one of my favorite places for brunch. The Guava chiffon pancakes are to die for! Afterwards, we hung out at Kailua beach as long as we could (it was pretty cold for the beginning of January) and then we decided to do the Kokohead hike.
And then I found my new favorite shave ice place at Uncle Clay’s House of Pure Aloha.
And later we had some poke tacos for dinner at Cafe Julia. The next day I went shopping downtown (thanks to some Christmas gift cards from Matt) and had a “me day” at Ala Moana Beach Park where we later had my last dinner in Honolulu (for now) at Town.
Thus ends my 6th trip to Hawaii in the last two years, but it’s definitely not the last! As I am keeping as up-to-date with this (and staying as close to my resolution as possible) I have big news to share this week!
