Eating Everything in Honolulu – Part 1 (Yes, there are multiple parts to this)

Finally back to Honolulu after visiting this last May! After flying for 10+ hours straight (I am all about the straight flight to Honolulu nowadays, but boy is 10+ hours LONG), my boyfriend took me to Waikiki for dinner where we’ve been meaning to try out Heavenly.

Everything was really delicious and it was the perfect amount of food. After starting out with Big Island Honey Papaya and Local Lilikoi and Mango Sangria we had organic veggie and beans loco moco, ginger ahi poke, shinsato pork Big Island ginger saute, and kona coffee tiramisu!

The next night, we had another delicious dinner at Yuzu – the highlight was definitely the lotus root pizza.

The first few days were basically eating marathons (getting in all of the eating before the new year actually starts) and since my best friend Kristine had to babysit me for the day, we hit a couple of my favorite spots, including Big City Diner’s loco moco with kimchee fried rice and Blue Hawaii Lifestyle’s acai bowl.

Since a lot of businesses were actually closed for New Year’s Eve, we actually lucked out when we went to Kaimana Farm Cafe. The chocolate chip muffin was fresh and delicious and we also shared a couple of other items including the seared ahi tuna eggs benedict and Kakuni pork bowl and sweet potato and feta side salad.

For NYE dinner (before all of the fireworks went off over the city) we had the pre-fixe dinner at Hiroshi Eurasian Tapas. If you ever find yourself here you MUST try the foie gras sushi. Also, I’m not sure if this was a holiday special or anything but the snacks at the table with the wasabi aioli sauce and the chocolate marshmallow haupia pie dessert was actually life changing.

And those are the last things I ate in Honolulu in 2014, just WAIT until you see what I’ve been eating in Honolulu since then!
